He is survived by: his children, Linda Smith (Doug) of Phoenix, Julie Shaffer (Chris) of Cedar Rapids and Michael Brown (Wendy) of Pomeroy, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Bryan, Aaron Smith of Phoenix, Jacob, Jasmine, Jeremy Shaffer of Cedar Rapids and Caroline Brown of Iowa City.
