He was predeceased by: his wife Jeri Kay; his son Jeffrey Hunter; his brother Jim Hunter; his parents-in-law, William and Gladys Petersen; his in-laws, Cheral Thoms, Janice Turner and Jim Petersen; and his parents, Ed Hunter and Genevieve McCoy Hunter.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Hunter (Sherry), William "Bill" Hunter (Kim) and Kathy Schulte (Charles); and his siblings, Jerry Hunter (Donna) and JoAnn Beavers (Ron). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Teahen Funeral Home (3100 F Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
