She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Ambuehl and Mae Ambuehl; her husband Bob Otten; her son Robert Otten; her granddaughter Brianne Waychoff; and her sisters, Margaret DeWalt and Dorothy Samuelson.
She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Waychoff (Blaine); her granddaughter Abby Waychoff (Dan Murauski); her great grandchildren, Orrie and Forrest Murauski; and her grandson-in-law Ben Powell.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Teahen Funeral Home (3100 F Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous in Ruth's honor.
