He is survived by: his wife Janet "Jan" Beal of Cedar Rapids; his children, Justin Beal (Megan) of Cedar Rapids and Elyse De Corah (Robert) of Cedar Rapids; his grandson Henry De Corah; his siblings, Cynthia Beal of Tennessee, Michael Beal (Jackie) of Georgia, Diane Jullien (Bill) of Tennessee and Nancy Gordon (Tim) of Florida; and his pet Samson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trees Forever or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
