Thomas Wiegand Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas Wiegand of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Independence, Iowa, who passed away on December 30, 2022 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Edward and Doris Wiegand (Kappmeyer); his wife Marlene Joan Linse; his parents-in-law, Marcus "Mark" and Lois Linse; his brother Gary; his brother-in-law James "Jim" Muhlhauser; and his nephews, Derek Lee and James Michael "Mike" Muhlhauser.
He is survived by: his daughter Heather Nicole (Charles) of Boone; his son-in-law Brad; his daughters, Heidi Conerd (Brad) of Cedar Rapids and Carla Solem (Mark) of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; his grandsons, Noah Conerd, Matt Solem (Julia) of Fargo, N. D. and Nick Solem of Bloomington, Minn.; his stepgrandson Mike Solem of Helena, Mont.; his stepgreat-granddaughter Evie Solem; his sister Suzanne Lee (Terry) of Green Valley, Ariz.; his sisters-in-law, Yvonne "Vonni" Wiegand of La Habra, Calif and Joyce Muhlhauser of St. Louis; his close friend Donna Troxel of Cedar Rapids; his caregiver Jason; and his friends, John Mosinski and Anita Haughenberry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
