He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Bishop (Welker) and Chester "Chet" Bishop; and his wife Susan. He is survived by: his children, Robert Bishop (Janice), Julie Hammes (Aaron), Patti Jean, Angela Moore (Jason), Karen Safley (Brian) and Laura Holmes; his grandchildren, Matt, Evan, Daniel, Alan, Ashley, Amber, Austin, Adam, Allison, Alexis, Addilyn, Levi, Abel and Elsie; and his siblings, Judy, Kathy, Marsha and Randy. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services (1844 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Shade Cemetery (789 2nd Ave, Marion, IA 52302).
