He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sr. Dale and Fern Dale (Cushman); his wife Mary Anne Dale; his daughter Laurie Dale; his son-in-law Rob Lala, Jr.; his siblings, Robert "Bob" Dale, Jack Dale and Janet Burton; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Dale, Betty Dale, Gayle Dale and Kent Burton.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Heath (Ladd) of Iowa City, Anne Lala (late Rob) of Cedar Rapids, Maureen Dale Ernst (John) of Cedar Rapids, Mary Beth Seidl (Bob) of Urbandale, Colleen Dale (Ilene Coon) of Bloomington, Meg Boer (Larry) of Walker, Pat Dale (Susie) of Cedar Rapids, Mike Dale (Jaleh) of Hayward, Cathy Peters (David) of Urbandale and Carey Dale of Des Moines; and his siblings, James "Jim" Dale (late Gayle) of Irvine and Joan Kling (Dennis) of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
