With sadness, we share the passing of Gerald Barker of Cedar, Iowa. Gerald, born on July 13, 1943 in New Hampton, Iowa, passed away on August 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Barker and Adelia Belle Barker; his brothers, Benjamin Barker and Garth Barker; his sister-in-law Marlyne Barker; and his parents-in-law, Roger and Charlene Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen Adair Barker (Smith); his children, Todd Barker (Melissa) and Carrie Thompson (Robert); his grandchildren, Lily Barker and Todd Barker, Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Gail Meade (Lynn) and Barb Yarber. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel (1221 1st Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Bible Church (1800 46th St NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
