He was predeceased by: his parents, Durward Tharp and Hazel Tharp (Reid); his wife Carol Severin; and his grandson Connor. He is survived by: his children, Therese Plummer (Jim), Todd Tharp (Angela) and Jamie Tharp (Staci); and his grandchildren, Brett, Hannah, Abby, Sadie and Mason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Cedar Rapids.
