He was predeceased by : his parents, Detlef Carstensen and Olivia Carstensen (Nelson); his daughter Kris; his granddaughter Kira; and his siblings, Judy and David.
He is survived by : his wife Patricia Cavanaugh; his son John (Mary McNamee); his grandchildren, Peter and Lura (Ryan Boyd); his child Kelly (Bob Trachta); his granddaughter Tricia Gavin; his daughters, Megan Gavin (April McRaven) and Briana Gavin; his grandson Ethan Boll; his child Karlen (Tom Howard); his grandchildren, Ryan (Cassondra Boehmer) and Chad (Natia Nutting); his child Allie (Garrett Kula); his grandson Braden (Meridith Mara); his children, Kirsten, Jack, Sarah Manhattan (Jerome Kramer) and Kyle; and his brothers, James, Richard Carstensen and Clinton. He is also survived by his six children, 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
