Though John has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Powell and Berniece Powell (Simmons). He is survived by: his wife Merry Carol Cherry; and his children, Kim Casteel (Don), Doug Powell (Alica) and Lisa Lamb (Larry). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to Camp Courageous in Monticello.
