We announce the death of Larry McGrath of Cedar, Iowa, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 98. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Jo; his close friend Ruthie Schuller; and his parents, Irish McGrath (Edward) and Rose McGrath. He is survived by: his children, Mary Cornelis (Bill), Kate Douglas (Vince), John McGrath and David McGrath (Laurie); and his grandchildren, Katie Jo Cornelis (Eric), Sarah Palmer (Chris), Laura Orris (Ray), Tim Cornelis, Justin Lievens (Kate), Noah Lievens (Kassy), Caroline Padway (Ethan), Allie Powell (Jordan), Will McGrath and Libby McGrath. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cottage Grove Place Employee Appreciation Fund or Hospice of Mercy.
