With sadness, we share the passing of Mary Bredl of Cedar, Iowa. Mary, born on June 13, 1935, passed away on September 19, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Bredl to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Schwartzhoff and Mary Schwartzhoff (Regan); her brothers, Gerald and Jim Schwartzhoff; and her husband Jack Bredl.
She is survived by: her children, LeAnn Bredl of Boston, MA, John Bredl (Mary) of Hudson, WI, Susan Rugo (Tom) of Cape Cod, MA, Becky Ferguson (Mike) of Waukesha, WI, Kristin LaCroix (Marc) of Scottsdale, AZ, Greg Bredl (Lori) of Cedar Rapids, IA., Sara Mudd (Dave) of Cedar Rapids, IA. and Jennifer Bredl of Cedar Rapids, IA.; her sisters, Elizabeth Gary Ann Wilson and Kathy Gregor; and her sister-in-law Mary Lou Schwartzhoff. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Matthews Church (2310 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Matthews Church.
