She was predeceased by: her parents, James McNeill and Mildred McNeill (Buckner); her husband Donald McAlister; her siblings, James McNeill, Jr. and Judy Nesper; her stepdaughter Patricia Williams; and her niece Theresa Needham.
She is survived by: her daughter Penny Ferguson; her grandson Todd Ferguson (Felicia); her great grandchild Dakota Ferguson (Aaliyah); her great great grandchild Aria Ferguson; her great grandchild Savannah Ferguson; her son Steven Ferguson (Anita); her grandchildren, Christina Morris (Aaron) and Evan Ferguson (Julie); her great grandchildren, Annabel Ferguson and Liam Ferguson; her granddaughter Ilana Ferguson; her stepson Glenn McAlister (Barbara); her grandson Don Williams (Merril); her great grandchild Jake Williams; and her nieces and nephews, Rick Clarkson, James McNeill, Dianne Wagner, Barb Henderson and Marcia Kelly.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. James Kids Club (Trinity-St. James Methodist Church, 1430 Ellis Blvd., NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405) or The Methwick Community (1224 13th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405) where she lived since 2018.
