We announce the death of Rita LeGrand of Cedar, Iowa, who passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 96. Rita will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph N. LeGrand; her siblings, Kathryn Heiberger of Dubuque, Lillian Launspach of Dubuque, Lucille Heiberger of Dubuque, Alfrieda Miersen of Dubuque, Phyllis Payne of Dubuque, Susanna Kass of Dubuque, Mary LeGrand of Cedar Rapids and John Kass of Dubuque; and her parents, John N. Kass and Susan E. Kass.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Jackson (Ronald Jackson) of Vinton, Joseph (Marie) of Siloam Springs, AR, Douglas of Cedar Rapids and John of Anamosa; her brother Wilmer Kass of New Lisbon, WI; her grandchildren, Jamey Jackson, Samantha Mercier and Melinda Slate; and her great grandchildren, Maya Selk, Ava and Wesley Mercier.
