With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sammy Vance of Cedar, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2026 at the age of 34. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Pete Thompson, Ardis and Elaine Vance; and his aunts, Gloria Yoder and ReNee Vance.
He is survived by: his parents, Carol Vance and Gaylen Vance; his siblings, Ben Vance (Kate Parsons), Jacob Vance and Kari Vance; his grandmother Mimi Thompson; and his pet Zoidberg. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Shueyville Church. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at the Cedar Memorial (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
