He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Thurston and Bernice Thurston; and his nephew Troy. He is survived by: his daughters, Rebekah Wiersema (Steve), Hannah Williams (Jeff), Leah Curry (Chris) and Sarah Jupin (Jared); his grandchildren, Joel, Abby, Mya, Benjamin, Eli, Eliana, Lydia, Giselle, Emery, Tucker, Caden, Colbie, Langley, Gibson, Remee and Kash; his wife Sherri Thurston; his siblings, Dave Thurston (Shirley) and Marsha Emerson; and his siblings-in-law, Terri Zeman (Jon) and Ron Wonick. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for the compassionate care, guidance, and support they provided to Steve and his family throughout his Alzheimer's journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or to the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Steve's memory.
