He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Barrell and Velta Barrell (Agan); his former life partner Carroll Barrell; his siblings, Perry Barrell and Darlene Miller; his son Adam Elarton; and his grandsons, Eric Elarton, Mark Elarton and Josh Susin.
He is survived by : his former life partner Carroll McVeigh; his wife Dorothy Barrell; his children, Gary Barrell Jr., Jody Walker (Randy), Bob Barrell, Richard Barrell, Jessica Glosser (Dustin), David Elarton, Russell Elarton (Helen), Connie Susin (Jerry) and Brenda Lancial (Andy); and his siblings, Shirley Tomlinson (Bob), Sharon Phelps (Don), Donnie Barrell (Marilyn), Rodger Barrell (Janie) and Carma Morrow (Bill). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
