He is survived by : his mother Becky Surber Sr.; his children, James, Serenity, Braxton and Adalynn; his girlfriend Amber Thompson; and his sisters, Becky Sly (David) of Cedar Rapids, Ruby Surber of Oskaloosa, Ashley Sidebottom (Steve) of Oskaloosa and Sarah Alvares (Jorge) of Eagle Grove.

“There isn't any words I can say except I'm so sorry he was a good man at heart he loved each of you and ruby you were the biggest part of his life. You were there. I will always remember Bud aka James when I saw him he would always talk about you and his kids.
