Ladd left this world on September 9, 2025 at the age of 70, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Montegna and Jean Montegna (Price); his half-brother Anthony Montegna; his brother-in-law Phil Foglesong; and his nephew Jeremy Richardson.

He is survived by: his wife Rita; his son Chad Montegna (Carrie); his grandchildren, Caleb and Alyssa Parker (Rese); his son Eric Teater; his grandson Braydin Shaffer; his sisters, Alice Richardson (Jerry) and Marcia Foglesong; his siblings' children, Keith (Megan), Ben Foglesong (Stephanie), Jennie Plummer (Keagan) and Julie Richardson; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashram Foglesong, Kira Foglesong, Alta Jo Plummer, Seleena and Hannah Richardson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to "RAPT" Reaching All People Together.
