It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pauline Donovan (Centerville, Iowa), who passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Broshar and Ruth Broshar (Foster); her husband Bill; her children, Judy Laubach, Billy Donovan, Mike Donovan and Pat Strickler; her sons-in-law, Bruce Laubach, Kenny Strickler and Chuck Steahr; her granddaughter Julie Strickler; her siblings, Mary Frances Lucas, John Broshar (Yvonne), Floyd Broshar (Carol) and Virgil Broshar (Jody); and her in-laws, Bill Donovan (Lucinda Cate), Albert Donovan (Bea), Arthur Donovan (Lucille), Eddie Donovan (Dora), Bessie Donovan, Genevive Kalvig (Irvin), Nadine Wood (John), Johnny Donovan and Sara Hiebert.
She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Steahr of Centerville, IA; and her grandchildren, Mark Carson of Albia, IA, Candy McCray of Crystal Lake, IL, Melinda Hensley (Clayton) of Clinton, TN, Bill Donovan (Jodi) of Ames, IA, Deanna Witte (Justin) of Marshalltown, IA, Jenny Schmidt (Jay) of Centerville, IA and Dylan Johnson of Centerville, IA. She is also survived by 39 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ritz Theater.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Cat Connections Cat Rescue and can be sent to Cindy Steahr, 1915 South 19th Street, Apt 13, Centerville, IA.
