We bid farewell to Violet Geneveive Garr of Centerville, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 5, 2025 at the age of 86. Violet touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Thomas and Lela Thomas (Kirkpatrick); her husband Cortland Garr; and her daughters, Tina, Lena, Becky Williams and Teresa Garr.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Garr, Kelly Garr (Teri), Tammy Williamson (Patrick), Timmy Garr and Stacey Buckallew (Mark); her sister Lila Lulu Thomas; and her grandchildren, Heather Wells (John), Amber Barber (Sandy Tripp), Cortney Barger (Bobby), Desiree Craver, Danielle Meredith (Cody), Josh Clopton, Christian Garr, Shaeleigh Garr (Kyle Elarton), Steven Garr, Chanda Marberry (Brian Meeker), Bobby Hayes (Murphy), Amanda Meeker (Joe), Tasha Hanson, Jared Williams, Kyle Garr, Josh Garr, Brett Garr, Dylan Baugher (Hannah), Skyler Baugher (Miria Jean) and Dalton Buckallew. She is also survived by 47 great grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home - Centerville (501 N 18th St, Centerville, IA 52544). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
