He was predeceased by: his parents, George James Anstey Jr. and Vivian Margaret Landstrom; and his siblings, Louie Anstey, George Anstey (Lloyd Anstey) and Janice Schroeder.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Anstey; his daughter Shelly Hovick of Columbus; his grandson Jensen Hovick; his son Brian Anstey of New York City; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Rivers of Ankeny and Dave Dankenbring (Colleen) of Olathe, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Chariton or to the Lucas County Inter-Church Council.
