He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Thompson and Maxine Thompson (Spande); his wife Linda Lu Thompson; his daughter Jane Singer (J. T.); his son-in-law Bill Singer; and his sister Sue Snyder (Thompson).
He is survived by: his sister Karen Kooda (Harland) of Anoka, Minnesota; his children, Jeff Thompson of Waterloo and Ann Aulwes (Jamie) of Chariton, Iowa; his grandchildren, Madison Sizer (Charlie), Michael Singer, Megan Aulwes, Max Aulwes, Liam Singer and Ryder Singer; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy Anspach (John) and Rodger Smith (Melanie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
