He is survived by: his wife Joan Simpson (Barton); his children, Joshua Benedict and Joy Benedict; his stepmother Nina Simpson; and his siblings, Theresa Downing (James), Fred Simpson (Lorri), Cathy Finning (Mike), Karen Zborovsky (Mike), Kevin Manning (Lisa), Clinton Simpson (Hope), Samantha Collado (Jorge) and Christy Simpson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
