He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Kent and Mary Kent; his brothers, Oliver, Roy, Harry and Glenn Kent; and his wife Shirley Kent (Bishop).
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Eugene (Deb), Victoria Louise (Ron), Oscar Kevin (Debbie) and Mary Beth Boyd (Gary); and his grandchildren, Aaron Boyd (Jody), Danica Harris (Chris), Ryan Boyd, Derek Kent (Kelli), Nicholas Boyd (Kristen), Jody Sandy (Tanner), Natalie Braun (David), Abbey Metzger (Randy) and Kayla Bond (Brandon).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church in Chariton, Iowa and the Paul Revere Lodge in Lucas, Iowa.
