He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, Dora and Isaac F. Etter; his parents, Willard Marvin and Lura Arlene Davis Buckalew; his siblings, Homer Doyle and Gayla Arlene Pierschbacher; and his daughter Karla Kay Buckalew.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Kathryn; his daughter Karen Buckalew (Dennis Kyabaggu); his grandson Soloman; and his sister Evelyn Hull (Ed). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Homes - Chariton (914 Roland Ave, Chariton, IA 50049). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marvin's name may be made to Pin Oak Marsh in Chariton.
