He is survived by : his parents, William Ungs (Bill) and Wendy Ungs (Mahoney); his children, Kyra Anne and James Ungs (Brie) of Hampton; his grandchildren, Skylar and Malakai; his sister Samantha Anderson (Scott); his nieces and nephews, Oliver and Archer; and his close friend Melinda Zimmerman Woodward. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home (1205 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lions Field Park (Charles City, IA 50616).
