He was predeceased by: his father Lyle Shearman; his stepfather Gareth Brown; his brother Gary Shearman; his in-laws, Sam and Gertie Houser; and his sister-in-law Lois Mahan.
He is survived by: his mother Vivian Shearman (Brown) of Cornell, WI; his wife Karen "Houser" Shearman of Charles City, IA; his children, Denise Goodrich (Dale) of Fredericksburg, IA, Terry Bass (Jan) of Pensacola, FL and Steve Bass (Karla) of Milton, FL; his stepdaughter Karen Youngerman; his siblings, Kathy Kuehn (Leon) of Winfield, IA, Cheryl Shearman of Charles City, IA, Carol Swanson (Keith) of Holcombe, WI and Joe Shearman (Marcia) of Mason City, IA; and his in-laws, Diane Dietzenbach (Darryl) of New Hampton, IA, Richard Houser (Donna) of New Hampton, IA and Jack Mahan of Colwell, IA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home - New Hampton (101 W Main St, New Hampton, IA 50659). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery - North Washington (1641 170th St, New Hampton, IA 50659).
