It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Mitchell (Charles City, Iowa), who passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Raymond and Leone Mitchell (Frederick); his wife Marlys; and his siblings, Mary Stoecker, Nancy Nieman and Robert Mitchell.
He is survived by: his great grandchild Mitchell; his siblings, Marge Squier of Britt, Don Mitchell (Beverly) of Nashua, George Mitchell (Ruth), Bill Mitchell (Linda), Sue Baker (Charles) of Charles City and Dean Mitchell of Arkansas; his children, Becky Becker, Tim Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell (Laura) and Richard Mitchell (Amy) of Charles City; and his grandchildren, Chris Becker (Catherine) of Colorado Springs, Joe Becker (Hannah) of Charles City, Josh Becker (Kate) of Norwalk, Tyler Mitchell (Moriah) of Charles City, Zach Mitchell (Lindsay) of Charles City, Drew Mitchell (Madison) of Charles City, Sarah Mitchell (Kaleb) of Charles City and Tyler James Mitchell of Charles City.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home (1205 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (705 3rd Ave, Charles City, IA 50616).
