With sadness, we share the passing of Al Kennedy of Cherokee, Iowa. Al, born on May 7, 1942, passed away on July 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kennedy and Margaret Kennedy (Lite); his siblings, Colleen Kunkel and Larry Kennedy; and his parents-in-law, Ray and Mary Meylor.
He is survived by: his wife Ramona Kennedy of Cherokee, Iowa; his children, Kelli Slattery (Terry) of Oro Valley, Dr. Kathleen Doohen (Steve) of Ankeny, Dr. Khristi Wickham (Tony) of Libby, John Kennedy of Aurora and Dr. Dan Kennedy (Adrienne) of Cherokee, Iowa; his grandchildren, Riley Slattery (Salyna), Shannan Slattery, John Doohen, Connor Doohen, Mitch Otto, Dr. Levi Otto, Nick Otto, Drew Kennedy, Cade Kennedy (Jolina), Ireland Kennedy, Baleigh Kennedy and Jameson Kennedy; his great grandchild Cash Kennedy; and his brother Pat Kennedy (Marilyn) of LeMars, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a future project in Al's honor.
