She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Chinn and Shirley Griffin (Ron); her sister Sue Wright; her brother-in-law David Wolterman; and her parents-in-law, Dorothy and Lawrence Tranter.
She is survived by: her children, Shirlene Smearman (Matt) of Phoenix, Arizona, Cory Wolterman (Ann) of Cherokee, Jake Wolterman (Jewel) of Locust Grove, Virginia and Jennifer Wymer (Brian) of Spirit Lake, Iowa; her grandchildren, Trent Sopeland, Logan Sopeland (Nikki) and Nick Smearman (Britt); her great grandchild Amelia; her granddaughter Emma Blades (Tony); her great grandchildren, Breece and Caleb Wolterman (Sarah); her grandchildren, JT Mathews, Jacob Mathews and Tanner Ellefson (Theresa); her great grandchild Loretta; her grandchildren, Anna Ernstmeyer (Andrew), Ruby Wymer and Nolan Wymer; her siblings, Bill Brady (Gloria) of Cherokee, Larry Chinn (Louise) of Humboldt, Mike Chinn of Cherokee, Iowa and Kathy Chinn of Alta, Iowa; her sister-in-law Alice Wolterman of Carroll, Iowa; her extended family, Chris and Michelle Horton; Chase, Tanner and Emerson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Ellen's honor to Cherokee Regional Hospice in Cherokee, Iowa.
