He is survived by : his children, Janet Miller (Paul) of Paullina, Richard Cave (Jean) of Sioux Falls, David Cave (Jeanne) of Cherokee, Duane Cave of Cherokee and Joan Cave-Borrer of Geneva, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Travis Miller (Ashley) of Moville, Heather, Bill Bremer of Sioux City, Tyler Miller of Omaha, Stacey Konz (Jeremy) of Rock Valley, Ashley Hoiby (Nate) of Bismark, Patrick Cave (Mia) of Sioux Falls, Melissa Orr (Andy) of Hamilton Montana, Christopher Cave of Cherokee, Kyle Cave of Cherokee, Chelsea Cave (Landon) of Cherokee, Andrew Cave of Cherokee and Emily Roelfs (Isaac) of Eseter, Nebraska; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel (Bryce), Emma Orr, Annika Bremer, Jillian Bremer, Lydia Bremer, Jazlyn Hoiby, Ike Hoiby, Jackson Gaul, Aubriee Cave, Bennett Cave, Dante Cave, Aliya Wagamon, Chloe Borror and Beau Roelfs.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (230 N Roosevelt Ave, Cherokee, IA 51012).
