He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Clabaugh and Dayle Clabaugh (Weeks); his brother Ronald Clabaugh (Colleen); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Patterson, Patricia Teske and Robert Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Patterson of Cherokee, Iowa; his children, Janelle Tentinger (AJ) of LeMars, Deborah Erickson of Cherokee, Kurtis Clabaugh of Cherokee, Kevin Clabaugh (Stephanie) of West Des Moines and Mike Clabaugh (Beth) of Mesa Arizona; and his brother-in-law Kenny Patterson of Cherokee, Iowa.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cherokee Regional Hospice.
