It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice C. Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa, born in Melvin, Iowa, who passed away on August 1, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, LeRoy W. Walker and Vivian Walker (Muilenburg); her husband Lee Bernard Nelson; and her sisters, Joan Helmers (Paul) and Mary Steinmetz.

She is survived by : her sons, David Lee Nelson of Cherokee and Dr. Daniel LeRoy Nelson (Maria); her grandchildren, Enrico and Elisha of Wisconsin; her friends, Vickie and Marvin Wieck; her siblings, Lionel "Butch" Walker (Theresa) of Sioux City, Iowa and Cynthia Armstrong (Joseph) of Georgia; her aunt Judy Peters of Sibley, Iowa.; and also, Kyler, Kennard, Kendra of Brooklyn, Iowa and Amara Connor.
