We announce the death of Joyce M. Caughey of Cherokee, Iowa, who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Tidrick and Edna Tidrick (Russell Caughey); her daughter Gaye Caughey; her grandsons, Shane Rupp and Tyler Rupp; and her siblings, Winnifred Olson and Richard Tidrick.
She is survived by: her children, Russell Caughey Jr. (Deb Belcher) of Brainerd, Lynn Regner (Dan) of Long Prairie, Kaye Hoover (Michael) of Marcus and Jo Rupp (Neal) of Quimby; and her siblings, Nancy Kienow (Bernard) of Dayton and Jim Tidrick (Sue) of Circle Pines, Minnesota.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Joyce was an avid reader (being recognized for checking out and reading the most at the Cherokee Public Library), has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be donated to the Cherokee Public Library, or a charity of their choosing.
