The passing of LaVon A. Roberts of Cherokee, Iowa leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 23, 2025 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Peck and Irene Peck (Lepper); her sons, David Roberts and Jon Roberts; and her siblings, Charlotte Hinrichs (Max), Shirley Nation (Harold), Marilyn George-Storbeck (Paul George) and Carroll Peck (Irene).
She is survived by: her husband Bob Roberts of Cherokee, Iowa; her children, Dan Roberts (Kelley) of Norfolk, Lori Ebel (Kirk) of Cherokee and Kelly Pitts (Mike) of Cherokee, Iowa; her daughter-in-law Sheryl Roberts of Tabor, Iowa; her grandchild Cash; her child Abby Howenstein (Jeff); her grandchildren, Benjamin, Noah, Thomas, Lindy, Isabelle and Amy Roberts-Campbell (Patrick); her great grandchild Eric Roberts (Megan); her grandchildren, Ryan Ebel and Katie Carlton (Corey); her great grandchildren, Landry, Walker, Emma, Cole Ebel (Shelly Cruzen), Matt Pitts, Adam Pitts (Karley), Andy Pitts and Mason Pitts (Lauren Matthey); her granddaughter Molly Pitts (Jaxon Baumgartner); and her nephew Ronnie. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
