He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lenz and Bertha Lenz (Brehmer); his wife Mary Jo Lenz; his daughter Debra Brown; his sister Lorraine Benson; and his granddaughter Christina Mills.

He is survived by: his children, Ron Lenz (Linda) of Remsen, John Lenz (Shelly) of Sutherland, Dan Lenz of Rock Valley, Regina Mills (Alan) of Sutherland and Joyce Ballenger (Barry) of Kearney, Missouri; his son-in-law Tom Brown of Hyde; and his close friend Corinne Malzer. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
