He is survived by: his wife Karen Hobbie; his children, Diana Hobbie (Ed James), Jeff Hobbie and David Hobbie (Jill); his grandchildren, Jami Schroll (Jason), William Mechem, Jessie Ahia (Bryan), Angela Helton (Corey), Ashley White (Patrick), Zachary Hobbie, Chloe Fleetwood (Tyler) and Isak Hobbie; his great grandchildren, Morgan White (Justin), Maison Schroll, Jace, Jade Mechem, Maximo, Madison Wilkins, Hannah, Josiah, Rebekah Cavadini (Helton), Wesley, Jacob White and Lincoln Fleetwood; and his siblings, John Hobbie and Jean Hobbie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ewing Funeral Home - Clarion (1801 Central Ave E, Clarion, IA 50525). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Clarion Church of Christ (420 N Main St, Clarion, IA 50525).
