He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Jeanne Decker and Richard Bordwell, Sr.; his aunt Berniece Hiatt; his nephew Anthony Forsmark; Louis and Madonna Kakacek.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Kakacek; his children, Jenny Smith (Dave) of Clarion, Sarah Bordwell of Sidney, MT, Katy Simmons (Scott) of Clarion and Jeffrey Bordwell (CeCelia Propp) of Sidney, MT; his grandchildren, Ashlynn, Drew, Carter Smith, Hale, Kane, Owen Dieterich, Nolan, Leah Simmons, Lincoln and Remi Bordwell; his sister Patricia Decker-Bucher of Granger; his niece Amy Moore (Rick); and his brothers-in-law, Denny Kakacek (Karen) of Watertown, SD, Al Kakacek (Denise) of Pocahontas, IA, Ron Kakacek (Leah) of Pocahontas, IA, Larry Kakacek of Sioux City, IA and Jim Kakacek (Tonia) of Pocahontas, IA. He is also survived by numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
