He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Boyes and Alice Boyes (Henker); his sister Linda Bierbaum; his parents-in-law, Herbert and Maribeth Bones; and his brother-in-law David Bones.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Bones; his sons, Nick (Naomi) of Nagoya, Japan and Seth (Janet) of Decorah, Iowa; his granddaughters, Gwendolyn and Lena; his sister Lisa Boyes; and his siblings-in-law, Kris Bierbaum, Beth Randolph, Vara Groot, Barb Chapman and Linda Sherman (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel (310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA 50428). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church (1310 US-18, Clear Lake, IA 50428).
