She was predeceased by : her parents, Chet Buffington and Nettie Buffington (Chamberlin); her husband Gerald "Jerry" Lindsay; her siblings, Raymond, Gaylord, Howard, Clyde, Stanley, Nellie, Geneva Anderson, Myrna Mondt and Josephine Kay; her son Jay Lindsay; her grandson Jeffrey Whitehill; and her daughter-in-law Linda Lindsay.
She is survived by : her children, Susan, Katie, Tom Lindsay (Fran) of Lansing, IA, Gary Lindsay of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sue Lindsay (Gary Brown) of Mesa, AZ, Sally Clay (Ron) and John Lindsay; her niece Cheryl Buffington Ohden; and her grandchildren, Michelle Dunn, Denise Hall, Gerry Lindsay (Laurie), Robert Lindsay, Julie Lindsay (Kevin Drisko), Nathan Lindsay (Alishia), John Locke (Lisa), Katie Locke, James Whitehill, Jared Whitehill (Dana), Jody Falls (Greg), Holly Platts (Justin), Max and Nicholas Lindsay. She is also survived by 20 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to the Clear Lake Methodist Church or Planned Parenthood Action Fund in Katie's memory.
