Mary Lou Nicholas Obituary

The memory of Mary Lou Nicholas of Clear Lake, Iowa, who passed away on May 23, 2025 at the age of 96, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her significant other William L. Nicholas; her parents, William H. Ogden and Myrtle A. Ogden; her mother-in-law Viola Nicholas; her brother Merle; and her in-laws, Bonnie, Ed Schick, Idella and Hal Dukes.

She is survived by: her sons, William Nicholas (Barbara) of Clear Lake, Gregory Nicholas (Julie) of Clear Lake and Jeffrey Nicholas (JoAnn) of Clear Lake; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Gabe Haugland) of Clear Lake, Greg Jr. Nicholas (Erin Marie) of Clear Lake, Emily (Cory Gerdts) of Clear Lake, Andrew Nicholas (Paige) of Clear Lake and Victoria Nicholas (Travis Grandgeorge) of Ankeny; and her great grandchildren, Grace, Nicholas Haugland, Bella, Cecelia, Liam Nicholas, Landry, Avi Gerdts, Estelle, William and Eva Nicholas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel (310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, IA 50428). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church (508 2nd Ave N, Clear Lake, IA 50428).

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice in Mary Lou's memory.
