He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy VerSteeg and LuLu VerSteeg (Miller); his wife Jean Woelber; his siblings, Roger VerSteeg (Mary Ann) and Mary Johnson (Bob); his parents-in-law, Martha and Herman Woelber; his siblings-in-law, Jon Spang, Del Woelber, Don Woelber, Edwin Duer and Vonnie Woelber; and his siblings' children, Rick Gass, Robb Gass and Joan Naber.

He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Julie VerSteeg) and Jeff (Theresa VerSteeg); his sisters, Donna Gass (Duane) and Linda Spang; and his sisters-in-law, Lavonne Duer and Sugar Woelber.
