He is survived by: his children, John Jay Gickler (Sheryl) of Princeton and Lucinda "Lucy" Shrout (Mike) of New Bloomfield, Missouri; his grandsons, Alex Edward Gickler of Princeton and Ted Alan Shrout of New Bloomfield; Gracile Gickler of Clinton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Benevolent Fund or Samaritan's Purse (both organizations were very dear to Alan).
