We announce the death of Eugene F. Richter (Clinton, Iowa), born in Carrington, North Dakota, who passed away on October 26, 2026, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Richter and Alma Richter (Spitzer); his former wife Mary Kaufman (Kringle); and his son-in-law Al Edfors. He is survived by: his children, Denise Bussie (Stacey) of Clinton, Lori Petersen (Shawn) of Clinton, Nathan Richter (Leah) of Clinton, Barb Edfors of Clinton and Susan Petersen of Morrison; and his siblings, Evie Friezen (Jerry) of Brookings, Jerry Richter (Debbie) of Bella Vista, Allen Richter of Fargo, Leon Richter (Carole) of Bella Vista, Glenn Richter (Kathy) of St. Louis, Tim Richter (Ann) of Fargo, Paul Richter (Patty) of Carrington and Julie Mindt (Brian) of Valley City. He is also survived by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of the Open Door (816 13th Ave N, Clinton, IA 52732). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Unity Christian School.
