It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan E. Atherton of Clinton, Iowa, who passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George A. Titus and Helen D. Titus (Miller); her husband Larry F. Atherton; her son David M. Atherton; her siblings, Georgegene Willemarck and James Titus; and her brother-in-law James Willemarck.

She is survived by: her children, Lori Cooling (Casey) of Durant, IA and Dan Atherton (Tina) of Avon, IL; her grandchildren, Stephanie Crippen, Andrew Crippen, Rachel Atherton (Chianne) and Blair Atherton; her stepgrandchildren, Corey Cooling (Alyssa), Clare Freiburger (Damien) and Charley Cooling; her grandchild Aiden Freiburger; and her siblings, Linda Klyman (Richard) of East Moline, IL, Larry Titus (Jacquie) of Jefferson, WI and Albert Titus (Linda) of Gages Lake, IL..
