He is survived by: his father Roy Barten; his children, Monica Barten of DeWitt and Dustin Barten of Davenport; his grandson Logan; his siblings, Lon Barten, Shawn Barten and Sheila Witt; and his brother-in-law James Atwater. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
