He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin J. Cromer and Emma M. Cromer (Schumacher); and his siblings, Pearl Ketelsen, Earl Cromer and Alvin "Butch" Cromer.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Edens of Clinton; and his daughters, Paula Montgomery (Michael) of Davis Junction, IL, Kim Thornton (Mike) of Thomson, IL and Tracy Chapla (Dave) of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
