He was predeceased by: his grandfather Vern Olmstead; and his uncle Kevin Bamman. He is survived by: his parents, Jason Olmstead and Tracy Olmstead (Bamman); his grandparents, Steve, Kathy Bamman of Clinton and Linda Moyer of Clinton; his aunts and uncles, Joe Olmstead (Jenna) of Clinton, Justin Olmstead of Camanche, Jamie Wolfe (Jared) of Phoenix and Jessica Fujiwara (Takashi) of Clinton; his close friends, John Lauritzen, Abby Albrechtsen and Snowey; and his pet Charlie.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
